HCPCS PRICE UPDATE

What is the HCPCS Price Update?
The HCPCS Price Update is a an **OPTION** that you may purchase to work with your existing TeamDME! program. It is provided quarterly by TeamDME!. This program contains a dbase compatible file named XXDMEFEE.DBF in the following information:
1) HCPCS Codes 2) HCPCS Code Modifier 3) Type of HCPCS Code
4) Ceiling (highest allowed Medicare price in all 50 states and 3 territories)
5) Floor (lowest allowed Medicare price in all 50 states and 3 territories)
6) Allowed amount for all 50 states and 3 territories
This option will automatically update the allowed amount in the Order, File, Tie Carrier To HCPCS function for any single carrier or for all default carriers (carrier look up left blank).

How To Receive:
Please contract your TeamDME! marketing representative for pricing and availability.

Running:
Go into System \ Technical Support \ Update DMERC Allowable
State in which you are located......: (Defaults to the state in which you are located)
Payor code (Leave blank for default):
Drive which contains allowable file.: (Defaults to A:)

State in which you are located - This prompt tells the HCPCS Price Update which state's Medicare allowables should it use to perform the update. Normally just press ENTER to accept your state.

Payor code - If you want TeamDME! to update the allowable for one particular carrier (ie. Your DMERC), enter the insurance carrier look up code for your DMERC. For example, if your DMERC were Palmetto and your lookup code for Palmetto was REG-C, then you would enter REG-C here.

If you want to update the "default" carrier code (that is all carriers that do **NOT** have a specific carrier specified in the Tie Carrier To HCPCS item, carrier, HCPCS code and allowable relationship), leave this field blank.

Drive which contains allowable file - This "defaults" to A:, normally insert your HCPCS Price Update disk into your A: drive at this time and press ENTER.

After pressing ENTER above, a red window will pop up and ask:

Replace allowables for
(name of the carrier you selected above)
with (state which you selected above) DMERC allowables.

Yes No

Normally press Y (for yes) to update these prices.

When the process is complete, a red window will pop up and tell you the number of allowables that were changed.
