These instructions are for download and installing the updates downloaded from our
web site. Please print this page.
How to Download the correct update file:
- From the Download page, click on the link for FullInstall update.
- Next, click on the file name you wish to download. It will ask you what to do with the file;
choose "Save" and where it says "Save In" make sure it
says "Desktop". If it does not, click the gray arrow to the
right and select where it says "Desktop". Then, click
save. Depending on the file being downloaded, this could take a few
minutes to download. Once the file download has completed, click
"Close" on the download box if it stays open.
- Once the file saved onto your desktop, double-click on that file
name. It should pop up a box asking you to unzip the files, with a
default path included. Just click on the "Unzip" button and
let it unzip. Of course, to unzip the file you will need to contact us
to get the password.
BEFORE UPDATING,
MAKE SURE EVERYONE IS OUT OF TEAMDME!
How to do the Update after Downloaded from the Web:
Updating TeamDME!
if you do NOT have a network:
- Go to a DOS prompt (in windows choose "START", then
"PROGRAMS", and then "MSDOS"). Once you are at the dos
prompt, type in "cd\update" and hit "Enter" Next, type
"Upfiles" and hit "Enter"
- Answer the prompts as follows:
Would you like to install TeamDME! Version? "YES"
Enter drive to update from: "C:\UPDATE" (or whatever directory name
you unzipped the files into)
Enter directory for program files "C:\SPECTRUM"
Enter directory for data files. (This will normally be
"C:\SPECTRUM\DATA".) If you have multiple companies, it will read
C:\SPECTRUM, and the little box below will have a check mark in it
- As the install starts, it might ask you to insert disks 2, 3 and/or 4. If
it does, select "Skip". The update should now start.
- When the update is finished, type "EXIT" and press
"ENTER" to return to WINDOWS
- Once done copying the files, go into TeamDME!. Hit the "H"
key for "Help", then the "A" key for "About
TeamDME!". It will pop up a red screen. In the middle of
that screen, it will say "Program Version" and "Data
Version" Both versions should be the same (ex. 6.19.03 program
version, with a 6.19.00 data version) The data version will always end
with a ".00", so don't be surprised when you see that.
Updating TeamDME! if you DO have a network:
- Right click on your TeamDME! icon. Left click on
"PROPERTIES", then left click on "PROGRAMS"
- What we are concerned with is the "WORKING" line. The
"WORKING" line shows the path to your data. If it says
"F:\SPECTRUM\DATA" then your path for your program files will be
"F:\SPECTRUM" and your path for your data files will be
"F:\SPECTRUM\DATA". If the first letter is something other than
"F", then use that letter instead.
- Left click on "CANCEL".
- Go to the DOS prompt (in windows choose, "START", then
"PROGRAMS", and then "MSDOS"). type in "cd\update"
and hit "Enter" Next, type "Upfiles" and hit
"Enter"
- Answer the prompts as follows:
Would you like to install TeamDME! version? "YES"
Enter drive to update from "C:\Update"
Enter directory for program files (FROM STEP 2).
Enter directory for data files (FROM STEP 2).
If you have multiple companies, it will read whatever your first letter is
and ":\SPECTRUM", and the little box below will have a check mark
in it.
- As the install starts, it might ask you to insert disks 2, 3 and/or 4. If
it does, select "Skip". The update should now start.
- When the update is finished, type "EXIT" and press
"ENTER" to return to WINDOWS
- Since you are on a network, there is one more important step left. On
every computer you must do the following..... Go to the DOS prompt (in
Windows choose, "START", then "PROGRAMS", and then
"MSDOS"). You will be at the "C:\Windows" prompt. Type
"Copy " plus the first letter (that you determined in step 5
above) + "\Spectrum\Teamdme!.exe C:\Spectrum" and press
Enter. (IE...Copy F:\Spectrum\Teamdme!.exe C:\Spectrum) If it asks you
to override the existing file, answer "Y" and hit "ENTER"It
will say "One file copied". Type "EXIT" and press the
ENTER key to return to Windows. Make sure you repeat this step
for each of the workstation computers.
- Once done copying the files, go into TeamDME!. Hit the "H"
key for "Help", then the "A" key for "About
TeamDME!". It will pop up a red screen. In the middle of
that screen, it will say "Program Version" and "Data
Version" Both versions should be the same (example: 7.00.xx program
version, with a 7.00.00 data version) The data version will always end
with a ".00", so don't be surprised when you see that.
As always, if you have any questions about the update, just give the support
technicians a call and we should be able to help you out.
